Awards nominations for the 2024 Communities Joined in Action National Conference are now open!
The Awards Committee for the 2024 Communities Joined in Action (CJA) National Conference is requesting nominations for membership awards. The awards will be presented during the national conference. This is your invitation to recognize CJA members for their contributions to community health. Individuals or groups involved in any aspect of community health should be nominated for these leadership awards.
Please review the criteria for each award and select the category most suited to your nominee’s accomplishments. You are not limited in the number of nominations you can submit; however, each nomination needs to be on a separate form.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS NOVEMBER 15, 2023
Nominations received after that date cannot be guaranteed consideration.
Mark Redding Health Transformation – Mark’s vision was to leave the world a better place for generations to come. CJA members and friends are encouraged to nominate an individual, organization, or community health coalition / collaborative that has demonstrated a breakthrough model that achieves better health outcomes, reduces inequities / disparities and or promotes a culture of health – and is adaptable in other settings.
Grassroots Political Engagement – CJA members and friends are encouraged to nominate leaders with exceptional skills in organizing grassroots participation and or utilizing the policy / political process to advance health improvement and equity work. This award may be given to an individual, agency or a community health coalition / collaborative.
Emerging Leader in Health Transformation – CJA members and friends are encouraged to nominate extraordinary community health leaders, in the field for 10 years or less, 40 years old or younger, and with a demonstrated commitment to health and equity.
Marilyn Hughes Gaston Health Equity – Dr. Gaston was an important catalyst for the launch of CJA and believed strongly in striving for 100% access and 0 health disparities. CJA members and friends are encouraged to nominate leaders who have made significant contributions to theory, policy, and/or practices that improve health equity by driving towards 100% access, and 0 health disparities.
