Dr. Brad Lucas joined Buckeye Health Plan in 2005 and currently serves as Senior Medical Director. Dr. Lucas helps Buckeye and parent corporation Centene build programs that reduce the rates of preterm birth, low birth rate, and infant mortality.
He has helped to build and guide Centene’s award-winning programs Start Smart for Your BabyR, its addiction in pregnancy program and preterm birth prevention programs. His expertise is critical to the development and implementation of programs that improve clinical outcomes and ensure high-quality care across all medical conditions for Buckeye members.
Dr. Lucas remains active in community outreach that impacts mothers and families in Ohio. He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality and co-chairs the Promoting Women’s Health Before, During, and After Pregnancy Workgroup, for the Collaborative. Dr. Lucas has served on the Pathway Communityity HUB Institute National Guidance Council working to initially develop and now to continue to improve national Community HUB Certification Standards.
Completing his OB/GYN residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Lucas is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a Board certified physician, he continues his clinical care at Rapid Medical Research in Cleveland.
